Did you take the image with a real Holga camera with film or have you made yourself a Holga-Bender to attach to your digi-camera ?

I like your image, it has flair Grin no teeth

Thanks Ran, this bender was build by Randy Smith for my Olympus digital camera. It is a Holga lens.

Ah....those Smithys are not exactly Benders, more of a Holga-digi-focuser, the Holga Benders we use have my mini bellows for both Bending and focus.....the bellows allow for special apertures for vignettes and other kewl effects similiar to film Holga cameras + LensBending like you get with a L-Baby Kewl

Thanks Ta, the Olympus factory rep. was in town last week and I bought the MF-1 adapter for OM lens. When you say lc-a lens are you referring to leica lenses?

Brince: The bellows attaches with a body cap or "T" adapter that is machined to fit the mini bellows.

I take the Holga lens mount, machine it to fit the bellows, then the Holga lens and optic is modified so it will focus with a special focus tube inside the mini bellows.

I had a Bender kit so folks could make their own special Benders, but then more folks just wanted me to make them a Holga Bender ready to use, so that's the way it worked out.

Of course our friend Mel from Ozzieland got folks down there interested in making a loupey Bender, they tried all kinds of different bellows, but in the end she just ordered a bunch of mini bellows from me and they're out happily Bending their "Loupey"s .

By the way.....that "Original" Lensbaby is perfect for hacking your own found optics into........carefully remove the retaining ring using a "rubber" glove to grip and protect the finish on the retaining ring.....remove the "Original" loupe type optic. Buy a loupe kit from Harbor Freight that you can use to hack up to use as new mounts for your found optics . You'll have fun just using the HF loupes as new optics, but will soon get tired of the telephoto factor of the longer focal length loupe optics......so they will become the first to be hacked .

Where all this fun is leading.....is to experiment with the Holga optics or other kewl optics for Bending with .

Of course if hacking optics doesn't seem like fun.....then one can always buy my tricked out Benders for fun too begGrin no teeth .

The nice folks at Lensbaby also appreciate ones business .......seems they are hiring new people all the time to keep up with demand and idea people to come up with new Baby's and accessories .

DIY .....gives me the most fun for my buck, but then I also seem to acquire most of the Lensbaby line along the way, and it also gets hacked smiling bouncing smiley

brince,

By Lc-a lens I meant the Minitar-1 lens from a lomo lc-a camera Pink Grin
It's what gives the name lomo (I reckon)and I know it'll need some hacking to get it to work.

Brince the going price for the latest tricked out HolgaBender is $125 shipped, add $15 for metal mount .

If you send me the proper mount for you particular Oly-cam that I can machine, either a tight fitting body cap or T-2 type adapter asap then I will make you a special deal .

For the glass Holga optic made in Japan the price is $150 shipped ......the plastic optic is really our favorite, but some people want sharper and more contrasty Holga images then the plastic lens provides .

There is a very fine point with either Holga optic beyond which it can become too diffused. Stopped down with the stock aperture.....the image is boringly sharp.......that's where the tricked out HolgaBender shines......ask Ta !

I also recommend adding the Holga wide fisheye accessory lens, I don't sell them, but they work super with the HolgaBender or really any of the Holga items will fit.

Sorry if this sounds like a sales pitch.......if for any reason you don't like your HolgaBender just send it back for a refund ......in a reasonable time period of course winking smiley

If you decide to get one for your Oly, I will need to ask you some questions regarding focus point at infinity, as I don't have a test camera . The Nikon and Canon I have tested and the focus is about the same .

Ran, the metal mount you refer to...is that the T-2 vs plastic body cap?

Brince that would be correct, they are easy to fabricate and you could check the fit on your camera before sending it to me.

Body caps work well too.....they cost almost the same as "T"-2 adapters if the body caps are OEM.

I've found the metal usually clicks on and stays put, but the plastic body caps are lighter and work just as well.

If you are afraid of them wearing out send me several and then you'll have spares or you can find other uses for making your own Benders ?
